Scott’s Parramatta future “in jeopardy” after police complaint

2021-11-12T13:02+11:00

Curtis Scott’s tenure at Parramatta could be over before it started after a complaint was reportedly filed against him to both the NRL and NSW Police.

Scott was on the verge of inking a one-year deal with the Eels having being sacked by the Raiders last season after being charged with assault in a Canberra nightclub.

According to SEN’s Michelle Bishop, Scott’s ex-girlfriend has gone to authorities to put a complaint against the centre.

Bishop says that while a complaint was filed with the league, they can’t investigate at this stage as Scott is unregistered.

“We’re hearing reports that the opportunity Parramatta handed Curtis Scott could be in jeopardy,” Bishop said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

“His ex-girlfriend has filed a complaint about him to both the NRL and the police.

“I have to make one thing clear, in terms of the NRL he’s an unregistered player, the NRL can’t investigate (an unregistered player), the Integrity Unit has no power to investigate anything at all.”

Bishop says the pair have been separated for two years and that Scott also went to the police to file his own complaint.

“The relationship between the pair, between the ex-girlfriend and himself has been over for two years,” she explained.

“Curtis is in a new relationship. Curtis attended the police station first to file the complaint, whilst he was in there the ex-girlfriend showed up at the station to do the same thing.

“There’s a little bit going on behind the scenes, but I can confirm Curtis Scott went to the police station first and got on the phone to inform Parramatta what was going on.”

The centre played 49 games for the Storm from 2016 to 2019 before shifting to the Raiders where he appeared 23 times across the last two seasons.

He has been working for his brother’s landscaping business since his time with the Raiders was cut short.
