Canterbury-Bankstown are set to sack the employee who leaked CCTV footage of Viliame Kikau wearing a Bulldogs polo alongside coach Trent Barrett and general manager Phil Gould.
The Bulldogs launched an investigation into the incident and have reportedly identified the person responsible for the leak.
SEN's Michelle Bishop believes that the Bulldogs are currently seeking legal advice on whether they are in their rights to terminate the employee’s contract.
“The Dogs are obviously seeking legal advice at the moment,” Bishop said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.
“(The employee) was apparently watching the club’s CCTV, took a screen grab and passed it on to a mate.
“It went viral and caused a fair bit of embarrassment for the club.”
The incident has also caused embarrassment for Kikau who was booed by Panthers fans at their premiership celebrations over the weekend.
The leak has been described as a breach of trust from the Bulldogs and a high-level meeting is set to be held on Tuesday to determine the fate of the employee.
“Aaron Warburton, John Khoury and Phil Gould are all about honesty and integrity at the club,” Bishop said.
“If they can’t have that (trust) internally, then they’ll have to move that individual on.”
Kikau has signed a four-year deal worth an estimated $3.2 million which will begin in 2023.
