Trent Dumont will be a Port Adelaide player in 2022.
The former North Melbourne midfielder was a surprise delisting last month having played 113 games at Arden Street after debuting in 2015.
Originally from South Australia, the 26-year-old former Kangaroos vice-captain is expected to return home via one of the upcoming drafts.
There still remains a bit to play out as the Power are undecided if he will be taken in the National Draft, Rookie Draft or as a delisted free agent, however, he will join the club for the 2022 season.
Dumont missed the first eight games of 2021 through injury but played every other game and finished the season averaging 17.9 disposals, 5.4 marks and 2.9 inside 50s.
A member of the 2013 Norwood SANFL premiership the year he was drafted, he will reunite with former Redlegs teammate Orazio Fantasia and coach Nathan Bassett at Alberton.
The Power recently added former Brisbane Lion Sam Skinner as a free agent after he spent 2021 playing with South Adelaide.
Confirmed: Former North Melbourne midfielder Trent Dumont will be at Port Adelaide in 2022. A bit to play out as Port are undecided if he will be taken in the draft, rookie or a DFA but he will be at Port Adelaide in 2022. #weareportadelaide @1116sen @1629senSA #port #AFLDraft
