The four clubs who have “kept in regular contact” with top 10 draft prospect

Josh Rachele says he’s “kept in regular contact” with four AFL clubs in the lead up to Wednesday night’s National Draft.

The Murray Bushrangers prospect is rated one of the best small forwards in this draft’s and has held two rounds of talks with Hawthorn, Fremantle, GWS and Adelaide.

Rachele could find his way to the Crows with their first pick in the draft – which will drift from pick four to pick six after clubs inevitably bid for father-sons Nick Daicos and Sam Darcy.

“I’ve met with all 18 clubs, but I’ve had a couple of double-ups now with the Hawks, Fremantle, GWS and Adelaide,” he told SEN SA Breakfast.

“They’re the four I’ve kept in regular contact with.”

The possibility of playing in a Showdown for the Crows excites Rachele, but he’d be “pretty humbled” to play for any AFL club.

“I’d be so keen to get to any club,” Rachele said.

“But being linked to the Crows obviously through the media … like I said, I’d love to go anywhere, but being at the Crows would be amazing, playing in the big games such as the Showdown.

“I’d be pretty humbled to go anywhere.”

Adelaide’s other picks in this year’s draft are 33, 74, 76 and 87.
