Young Adelaide forward Riley Thilthorpe is eyeing a big 2022 after showing glimpses of his unquestionable talent in his debut season.
Crows midfielder Sam Berry could not speak highly enough of Thilthorpe, praising the 19-year-old’s dedication to elevate his game in the off-season.
The former No.2 draft pick kicked 18 goals in 14 appearances in 2021, including a club-record five-goal haul on debut against Hawthorn.
Thilthorpe, who stands at 201cm, also booted three majors in Adelaide’s upset win over St Kilda, kicking a miraculous match-winning goal in the dying seconds.
“Riley Thilthorpe has had one of the craziest off-seasons. He’s in some ridiculous nick,” Berry told SEN SA Breakfast.
“He’s put his head down and gone to work.
“He’s just incredibly fit. He’s a great size, he’s getting stronger as well.
“He’s incredibly dedicated … it’s really exciting what Riley’s done. He’s setting a really good standard for everyone else.”
The West Adelaide product averaged a tick under 11 disposals and three marks per game this year.
Thilthorpe signed a three-year contract extension with the Crows in July.
