Roosters officially lock in Super League star

2021-12-09T10:54+11:00

The Sydney Roosters have officially signed Super League star Kevin Naiqama for season 2022.

Naiqama, 32, most recently played for St Helens in the Super League where he was the driving force behind their three-peat of the UK competition.

The utility returns to the NRL having played in the Australian first-grade competition 113 times between 2010 and 2018 where he represented the Knights, Panthers and Tigers.

While Naiqama had previously been linked with a move to the Roosters, the contract was only officially announced on Wednesday by the club.

Naiqama brings plenty of international experience to the Bondi club, having played 19 tests including 10 World Cup matches for Fiji.

SEN’s Joel Caine believes Naiqama could come back into the NRL to play a role similar to Penrith’s Brian To’o on a wing.
