AFLW game in doubt as Bulldogs deal with COVID outbreak

2022-01-12T14:55+11:00

Saturday night’s Western Bulldogs versus Geelong AFLW game is in doubt, with the majority of the Dogs side in isolation under COVID protocols.

It is being reported that the Bulldogs have more than 10 players with COVID, while others in the squad now need to isolate.

Under AFLW rules, teams require 16 senior listed players plus five top-ups for the game to go ahead.

Games can be postponed or cancelled if teams don’t meet the minimum player requirements.

The AFL is reportedly monitoring the situation closely.

Both teams are coming off Round 1 losses, with the Dogs going down to Melbourne and Geelong unable to overcome North Melbourne.
