SANFL star Jack Hayes will play for St Kilda in 2022, according to SEN’s Miles Pfitzner.
Hayes will fill a spot on St Kilda’s list under the pre-season Supplemental Selection Period (SSP) rules having been asked to train with the club over the summer period.
Hayes, 24, has been dominating the South Australian state league for Woodville-West Torrens for some time and his 2021 season saw him become a genuine contender to snap up an AFL list spot.
“You could argue he’s been in the top three players outside of the AFL for a couple of years,” Pfitzner said.
“At 24 he has a lot to offer at an AFL club, he’s extremely versatile.”
In 2021, Hayes captained the SA state team, won the Jack Oatey medal for best on ground in his club’s Grand Final win over Glenelg, whilst also finishing equal third in the league’s best and fairest, the Magarey Medal.
