The huge price that opposition clubs may force Port to pay for Rozee

2022-01-25T09:32+11:00

Port Adelaide forward Connor Rozee told reporters on Monday that he is confident he will re-sign with the Power, though contract talks aren’t his top priority at this stage.

The question now turns to his worth, both to Port Adelaide and to opposition sides trying to lure the South Australian local.

Kane Cornes has given his estimates on SEN Breakfast.

“My question would be, what’s he worth? He’s one of those impossible players (to value),” Cornes said.

“He’s worth, on what he’s delivered, I would say $500,000, but there would be a club out there that would pay him $800,000.

“What he’s worth and what he would get in this instance are too different things and he’s not dissimilar to some other players out there.”

Rozee said he was enjoying his time at the Power and was hoping to put contract talks “to bed” soon enough.

“Still going over that with the club at the moment. I leave that sort of stuff mostly to my manager,” he said.

“I think they’re slowly talking with the club at the moment and hopefully sometime soon or during the year well get that sorted, but it’s not a massive priority at the moment. Pre-season’s the main one and being fit for Round 1.

“I really enjoy playing for Port Adelaide and have loved my first four years here, so I’m sure that will get put to bed soon.

“I obviously love playing in Adelaide and I’m an Adelaide boy, so hopefully down the line we can get that sorted.”

Rozee has played 59 games and kicked 59 goals for the Power since being selected in the 2018 National Draft.
