Australia has named a full strength 18-man squad to face Pakistan in their upcoming tour.
Australia are touring Pakistan for the first time since 1998 and there were concerns some players would choose not to go due to security concerns, however no major names are missing.
Jhye Richardson is the only player that featured in the Ashes to miss the squad, while Josh Inglis, Ashton Agar, Mitchell Marsh and Mitchell Swepson have all been named.
Richardson played one Test in the series in Adelaide, taking five wickets in the second innings before pulling up sore.
He was rested for this upcoming tour, with selectors taking a long-term view taken with the young quick due to his injury history.
Chairman of selectors George Bailey suggested the squad was picked for Pakistan conditions.
“This squad covers for all scenarios including the conditions given it has been such a long time since Australia was last in Pakistan,” Bailey said.
“With several subcontinent tours and a one-day World Cup in India on the near horizon this is a great first up challenge for the group after the successful home Ashes series.
“It’s also a very historic tour given the length of time since an Australian side last toured Pakistan.”
Australia are scheduled to play three Tests against Pakistan, the first beginning on March 4.
The sides will then clash in three ODIs and one T20, with squads for those games to be announced.
