“That’s my mail”: Voss says Eels actively shopping for outside back

2022-02-21T09:55+11:00

Parramatta are reportedly still hoping to sign another winger ahead of the 2022 season, according to SEN’s Andrew Voss.

The Eels’ depth in that position is already stretched thin, with Blake Ferguson and Michael Oldfield departing in the off-season, while Maika Sivo and Haze Dunster will miss the start of the campaign due to injury.

As a result, Voss says he’s hearing that the club has made enquiries about Brisbane’s Jamayne Isaako, who could be out of favour at Red Hill due to his pending move to the Dolphins in 2023.

“I’ll give you a little story,” Voss said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

“Parramatta are shopping still at wing, Jamayne Isaako’s name has been whispered to me.

“They have made an enquiry about him if he’s on the outer at the Broncos.

“Corey Oates today got linked with Penrith, would Corey Oates be a fit for Parramatta?

“They are in the market for an outside back before the start of the season.

“They’re looking at the Broncos, and one of the two I think they’ll make an enquiry on.

“They already have made an enquiry on Jamayne Isaako, that’s my mail.”

Isaako, 25, would only be available to the Eels on a one-year contract as he’s already inked a three-year deal with the Dolphins from 2023.
