New skipper at the Suns with seven-man leadership group unveiled

2022-02-21T14:44+11:00

Jarrod Witts and Touk Miller will co-captain the Gold Coast Suns in 2022.

Miller, an All-Australian and best and fairest winner in 2021, was elevated to co-skipper after David Swallow relinquished the captaincy after sharing the role with Witts for three years.

“It’s extremely humbling and obviously I’m super grateful. I have a lot of love for this club and want to serve it as best I can,” Miller said in a club statement.

“I’m thrilled that the playing group and the club have put the trust in me to lead us alongside Jarrod and I’m really looking forward to what’s ahead.

“We’ve got some young leaders that are starting to emerge in both their football and off the field, which will put us in good stead for an exciting future.”

Swallow will remain in the Suns’ seven-man leadership group alongside Witts, Miller, vice-captain Sam Collins, Sean Lemmens, Nick Holman and Noah Anderson.
