Your AFL club's potential milestones in 2022

The 2022 AFL season is about to kick off and with that comes a whole list of potential milestones.

There are a few significant milestones set to fall, namely Joel Selwood and Scott Pendlebury's 350th games as well as 300 to Patrick Dangerfield, Shane Edwards, and both Sydney and West Coast's Josh Kennedys.

Lance Franklin is also due to tick off a huge milestone with 1000 goals in sight.

(Note: The below lists only include 100 games or more. Games played prior to the 2022 season in brackets).

Captain Rory Sloane is 21 games away from 250 where he will become just the ninth Crow to join that list. Two-time best and fairest Rory Laird and unheralded defender Luke Brown are approaching 200 and former skipper Taylor Walker will become the first Adelaide player to 500 goals.

Daniel Rich will become just the fourth Brisbane Lion to 250 games while Mitch Robinson, who played 100 for Carlton, is set for 250 AFL games. Brownlow Medallist Lachie Neale, after 135 games with Fremantle, is closing in on 200. There is also a key quartet nearing 150 including Harris Andrews, Joe Daniher, Dan McStay and Darcy Gardiner.

Captain Scott Pendlebury will become the first Collingwood player to 350 games later in the year. He will also tick over 200 games as skipper in 2022. Jeremy Howe and Jack Crisp are nearing 200 games after starting their careers at other clubs while Brayden Maynard and Jamie Elliott are close to 150 and Taylor Adams (134 in black and white) is nearing 150 for the Pies. Steele Sidebottom is set for life membership midway through the campaign.

Patrick Dangerfield is not far from 300 AFL games and is expected to bring up a rare double of 150 games for two clubs after 154 for the Crows. Mitch Duncan will join 18 other Cats on 250 games while ex-Hawk Isaac Smith and former Blue Zach Tuohy are eyeing the same milestone. Former Giants star Jeremy Cameron is nearing 200 and ex-Roo and Bulldog Shaun Higgins is set for life membership later in the season

He is also honing in on 700 career goals, and will join just 24 other players to do so. Kennedy is also set for life membership early in the season. Jack Redden, Jack Darling and Andrew Gaff are close to 250 games each. It could be a season of two different double centuries from both club and overall perspectives for Jamie Cripps who is one short of 200 overall and 17 short for the Eagles after 16 with the Saints.
