Storm put up 50 points to rout Knights in Newcastle

2022-05-01T15:57+10:00

The Melbourne Storm have continued their stunning form with a 50-2 win against Newcastle at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Following last week’s 70-10 win over the Warriors, the Storm picked up where they left off to cross over nine times compared to the Knights’ none.

Xavier Coates was again the beneficiary of the Storm’s dominant play as he scored a hattrick of tries, while star centre Justin Olam crossed over for two of his own.

Coates and Olam were joined by Nick Meaney, Cameron Munster and Jahrome Hughes as try-scorers for Craig Bellamy’s side.

The win is the Storm’s fifth in a row, and they’ll hope to make it six when they host the Dragons at AAMI Park next Sunday afternoon.
