“I am furious and disappointed”: Eagles players under investigation

2022-05-06T14:48+10:00

West Coast has revealed it’s investigating some unnamed players who attended a Leederville nightclub last Saturday.

It comes as the club continues to deal with a COVID crisis.

The Eagles have just 22 AFL-listed players available for Saturday night’s match against Brisbane with multiple players and staff – including senior coach Adam Simpson – in healthy and safety protocols.

Simpson said in a statement: “I am furious and disappointed with the actions of these players.”

The Eagles further added: “The club has gone to great lengths in educating the players around the need to adhere to club guidelines and it is beyond disappointing that they have put themselves in this situation.

“It is particularly disheartening given the strain on player availability at this stage of the season.

“At the earliest opportunity the club will meet with the players concerned.”

West Coast are rooted to the bottom of the ladder with a 1-6 record ahead of their match against the Lions at the Gabba.
