Max Gawn remains a chance to travel west for Melbourne’s clash with West Coast, having been cleared of structural damage in his knee.
Gawn was sent for scans on Monday after experiencing some soreness following a ruck contest with Paddy Ryder.
Of course, the Demons may yet choose to rest their captain, given they face the undermanned and struggling Eagles who themselves are without star ruckman Nic Naitanui.
The undefeated Melbourne would likely turn the role completely over to Luke Jackson if they did rest Gawn, bringing in Sam Weideman to bolster the forward line and giving Ben Brown backup ruck duties.
Majak Daw remains on their rookie list and is the only other ruckman in their squad.
