Geelong star in doubt for Round 10 after being struck down by virus

2022-05-19T12:51+10:00

Patrick Dangerfield is in doubt for Saturday’s clash against Port Adelaide with a virus.

The Geelong superstar has been sick for most of the week and hasn’t been able to train or attend the club.

Dangerfield missed rounds six and seven with soreness earlier in the year, but is understood to have been particularly unwell in recent days and faces a big climb to recover for Saturday’s game at GMHBA Stadium.

The Brownlow medallist might again be forced to watch as the 5-4 Cats face a rejuvenated Power gunning for their fifth win in a row.

Geelong coach Chris Scott yesterday said Jed Bews (concussion) was on return, and Rhys Stanley (ankle) could play afer injuring his ankle against St Kilda.

Livewire forward Gary Rohan is set for his first AFL game of the year.
