Demons romp home over Swans as forward slots three in VFL action at the ‘G

2022-06-04T18:24+10:00

The Demons have defeated the Swans in the only game in the VFL this Saturday as seven sides took their bye.

The 83-44 win takes Casey to a phenomenal 10-0 record so far this season as they continue to prove they have remarkable depth.

Sydney’s VFL side pushed the Dees in the second term before conceding the next four goals in a lead that was never challenged after the half-time break.

A smattering of fans at the MCG saw omitted forward Sam Weideman show his worth in a three-goal and 10-mark performance, while dropped defender Trent Rivers (25 disposals, six marks) held up strong in defence all day.

Oskar Baker (24 disposals, eight marks) and Luke Dunstan (24 disposals) were the most prolific inside for the Dees while Kade Chandler (one goal, 18 disposals), Jake Melksham (15 disposals, seven marks) and Michael Hibberd (17 disposals, eight marks) would be pleased with their games.

For the Swans, Lewis Taylor (40 disposals, seven marks) and Ryan Clarke (32 disposals, 11 tackles, 11 marks) dominated with the help of Callum Sinclair (22 disposals, 28 hitouts) who had a quality battle with Casey's Majak Daw (34 hitouts).

Will Gould (24 disposals, nine marks), James Bell (one goal, 23 disposals) and Dylan Stephens (22 disposals, five marks) were also good for the losing side.

The final four games of round 10 will be hosted tomorrow as several AFL-listed players push for a recall.
