It’s Stradbroke Day, the biggest day of the year on the Brisbane racing calendar featuring not just only the time honoured sprint, there’s another Group 1 as well, the J.J. Atkins for the 2yo’s.
There’s a huge support card, the weather is perfect & the track will kick off a Good (4), bring it on!!
BEST BETS
Race 3 # 4 SWEET THOMAS
Absolute tragedy beaten here in the Premiers Cup a fortnight ago climbing over the backs of the leaders. He worked across heels to the outside only seeing clear running 100m from the line making up about 3 lengths to just miss. Twice a winner over the 2 mile trip he can go close to making amends today.
Race 5 # 1 TYCOONIST
Another who raced without luck last start this time in the BRC Sprint when held up basically the entire length of the straight. He still managed to make ground in that restricted room winding up less than 2 lengths from the winner Soxagon. Alligator Blood & Niccanova filled the placings & of course that pair are definite chances in the Stradbroke later in the day.
Race 7 # 16 SHEEZA BELTER
Terrific race the J J Atkins where Political Debate, Sharp ‘n’ Smart & Sheeza Belter dominate the market.
I’m with the filly who was so strong late in the Sires running home over the top of Swiss Exile who looked home & hosed inside the final 200m. The tempo was strong in that race suggesting she’ll lap up the additional trip this afternoon.
