Former Premier League striker rues not taking Kewell’s real estate advice

Michael Bridges and Harry Kewell were neighbours and teammates at Premier League club Leeds United.

Bridges, who scored 19 goals for Leeds in 1999/2000, is ruing ignoring some real estate advice from Kewell during their playing todays together.

The Socceroos great told Bridges to buy property in Manly on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Manly is now one of the most expensive suburbs in Australia.

“You’ve just upset me,” Bridges told SEN’s This Is Your Journey – thanks to Tobin Brothers.

“It (the £) was 3/1 and Harry said exactly the same thing, ‘I’m buying some property in Manly, do you want to get involved?’.

“I said, ‘Why the hell would I buy property in Manly in Australia, mate?’.

“Harry’s retired, and I’m still working.”

Bridges played for Leeds, Sunderland, Newcastle United, Bolton Wanderers and Hull City.

The striker also played in the A-League for Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets.
