Every year when the NRL’s popular version of State of Origin rolls around, many with an interest in AFL fondly recall a bygone era.
State of Origin in Aussie Rules was a loved concept but one we haven’t seen regularly since the late 1990s.
With Origin between the NSW Blues and Queensland Maroons now underway, we’ve come to the party for AFL fans by compiling four state teams.
These sides are based on a mix of current and previous form and with the idea that the mock match is to be played in the next week or so, ruling out those who are injured.
Next up is the Western Australia team.
The WA side has been chosen by former West Coast Eagles full-forward and Coleman Medallist Scott Cummings and legendary Western Australian broadcaster Tim Gossage.
See the WA team below:
The Victoria side has been selected by Garry Lyon and Tim Watson.
The South Australian team was selected by SEN SA’s Kane Cornes and Andrew Hayes.
The Allies team, of NSW, Queensland, Northern Territory, Tasmanian and International players, will be selected by SEN Tassie’s Jack Riewoldt and David Lithgow.
