Collingwood took its contract offer to Jordan De Goey off the table on the weekend following the emergence of footage of him in a Bali nightclub, according to The Age’s Michael Gleeson.
It’s understood the club had offered De Goey a two-year deal with a trigger for a further two years on about $800,00 a year.
Sources confirmed to The Age that Collingwood withdrew the deal due to concerns about offering a player with De Goey’s history of off-field incidents a new long-term contract.

However, it’s also no indication that another deal will not be offered or that Collingwood does not want to re-sign De Goey.
The 26-year-old spent time in jail late last year in New York after a fight broke out in a nightclub, and the release of footage of him in a Bali nightclub during Collingwood's bye has only placed more pressure on the Pies.
However, De Goey responded via an Instagram post on Saturday, appearing to defend his actions while hitting out at the media’s persecution of him.
He was filmed pulling on a woman’s top but she has since said she could not “believe the backlash towards Jordy and myself” in defending De Goey on Instagram.
De Goey’s management and the club had been in “meaningful” discussions prior to the latest incident, according to the report.
He’s averaging 21.5 disposals, 4.6 clearances and 4.2 inside 50s in 2022.
