Jordan De Goey has spoken about the events of the past week, apologising for his actions.
De Goey was handed a $25,000 suspended fine after footage emerged of him in Bali appearing to pull down a woman’s top, while he was also captured also making unsavoury gestures to the camera.
The 26-year-old defended his actions via Instagram last Sunday, but on Friday apologised for the hurt caused.
“This week has obviously weighed pretty heavily on me and I thought I would just wait until I’ve got a clear mind to come out and apologise for my actions and my behaviours,” De Goey said in the video released by Collingwood.
“I don’t condone that behaviour at all and I’ve got a lot of work (to do) moving forward.
“I have a lot of important women in my life and I understand you need to show respect for women at all times.
“I’ve got a responsibility to the wider community and I need to keep working towards that.”
He also added that while he was “not a perfect person”, he would “make some changes so these mistakes don’t happen again”.
De Goey will miss the club’s Round 15 game against GWS on personal leave, with no return date confirmed.
Collingwood coach Craig McRae told SEN’s The Run Home on Friday that De Goey wasn’t in a place where he was ready to return to the football club.
