MRO hands down Stewart decision as Fyfe learns MRO fate

2022-06-26T18:33+10:00

Geelong’s Tom Stewart has been sent directly to the tribunal for his bump on Richmond’s Dion Prestia.

Prestia was knocked out as a result of the hit early in Saturday’s loss to the Cats as Stewart ran past the ball and elected to bump, collecting the Tiger high.

With Prestia taking no further part in the game, the incident was assessed as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact and he’ll face the tribunal this week.

Fremantle star Nathan Fyfe wasn't sanctioned by the MRO for making contact with an umpire on Saturday against Carlton.

While the incident was assessed, it was decided that Fyfe’s actions did not constitute a reportable offence.

In other findings, Geelong's Jeremy Cameron and Richmond's Marlion Pickett have been charged with wrestling.

The pair can both accept $1000 fines with early guilty pleas.
