Neil Kerley has died in a tragic car accident, aged 88.
The South Australian football legend passed away on Wednesday afternoon after his car towing a trailer crashed through a fence in Walker Flat in the Murraylands.
Affectionately known as ‘Knuckles’, Kerley was a SANFL great, playing for West Adelaide, South Adelaide and Glenelg while coaching the Bloods, Panthers and the Tigers, as well as stints coaching West Torrens and Central District.
Kerley also captained and coached the South Australian state team.
He is an Australian Football Half of Famer who spent more than 50 years in the game as a player, coach and commentator.
