Potential No.1 pick Will Ashcroft has continued his sparkling form for Vic Metro in the Under-18 National Championships.
After racking up 51 disposals for the Sandringham Dragons in a recent NAB League game, Ashcroft amassed 36 disposals, 12 clearances and seven tackles against the Allies last Saturday.
The gun midfielder inspired Vic Metro to a 16.10 (106) to 14.6 (90) win over the Allies at Blacktown.
AFL Talent Ambassador Kevin Sheehan says Ashcroft is dominating games at underage level in a similar way to Collingwood young gun Nick Daicos.

“He hasn’t done his chances any harm (of being the No.1 pick) in the last couple of weeks,” Sheehan told SEN Dwayne’s World.
“The last NAB League game he had 51 disposals then stepped up to the Nationals last week, they played against the Allies up there in Sydney, he had 36.
“They’re Nick Daicos-type numbers at underage level.
“He looks to be a step above most of the other kids from around Australia.”
AFL Media draft expert Cal Twomey thinks the possible Brisbane father-son is good enough to be playing at the highest level right now.
“He does that much extra work. I think he’s setting a new standard for draftees,” Twomey told SEN Breakfast.
“What a star he is. He hasn’t played a bad game all year.
“He does three extra gym sessions. He does three extra boxing sessions. He’s written a journal entry every night since he was 13 … he’s meticulous.
“Ashcroft’s numbers stack up very, very neatly next to (Sam) Walsh, (Hugh) McCluggage and also Nick Daicos in recent years coming through the draft.
“He’s ready. He’s ready to go. He could be playing AFL at the moment.”
Twomey believes the Lions are well placed to secure Ashcroft as a father-son in this year’s National Draft.
