The Carlton Football Club has announced that defender Tom Williamson will not play football again in 2022.
The Blues made the announcement via a statement on Saturday afternoon.
“The Carlton Football Club can confirm it has been having ongoing discussions with Tom Williamson since he undertook a leave of absence from the Club in early June,” the club said.

As a result of these discussions, it has been mutually decided that Williamson will step away from AFL football for 2022 and depart the Club.

Williamson had not appeared in a game for Carlton since 2021, being an unused substitute in Round 1 of 2022 before his leave of absence.
