Mark Bosnich has made his predictions ahead of the 2022/23 Premier League season.
The new campaign kicks off this weekend with Crystal Palace hosting Arsenal at Selhust Park on Saturday morning from 5am AEST before a full book of fixtures.
With it all about to unfold for a new season, the former Aston Villa, Manchester United and Chelsea goalkeeper has put forward his top 4 for the title.
He is predicting last season’s champions Manchester City to relinquish the title to Liverpool.
Bosnich’s predicted top 4:
4. Tottenham Hotspur
“At four I’m going to go for Spurs.”
Last season: 4th.
3. Manchester United
“Please put it in inverted commas, this is biased.
“I’m going to go for Manchester United.”
Last season: 6th.
2. Manchester City
“At number two it’s Manchester City.”
Last season: Champions.
1. Liverpool
“This is going to really hurt me to say this, because they were big rivals, but number one I’m going for Liverpool.
Last season: 2nd.
Those selections means that London duo Chelsea and Arsenal will miss the top four, according to Bosnich.
“That means at the moment, no Chelsea, who are starting to spend a lot of money and with (Roman) Abramovich going it might just be a little bit of a rocky road,” Bosnich said.
“Also Arsenal. They spent a huge amount of money as well. At the moment I’m leaving them out.
“This could change, because September 1st is the day the transfer window closes, so pending what happens between now and then, that order could change.
“One thing that won’t change, I’m going for Liverpool to be champions.”
Bosnich, who had two spells at Old Trafford, says it is a massive season for the Red Devils under new manager Erik ten Hag.
“He’s made some good signings, it’s a fresh start,” Bosnich added.
“He’s got Steve McLaren who used to be Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant and is now Erik ten Hag’s assistant.
“I’m really optimistic about Manchester United’s season. They’ve got to get into that top four.
“I think it may be a bridge too far to win the title, but they’ve got to get into the top four so they qualify for the Champions League.”

The former Socceroos gloveman also rates his old club Villa, under the guidance of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, as a legitimate “dark horse” for the season ahead.
“My old team Aston Villa, they’re a dark horse as well,” Bosnich said of the men from Villa Park.
“Steven Gerrard has basically signed two top quality players for each position and their owners are highly ambitious.
“They’re another one who is a real dark horse.
“They have signed Diego Carlos, Boubacar Kamara and Philippe Coutinho of Liverpool fame.”
Villa finished 14th on the table last season after Gerrard steadied the ship when replacing Dean Smith in November.
