The Cats reported Dangerfield felt calf tightness in the warm-up, with the decision made to pull him out of the game.
Luke Dahlhaus replaces the Brownlow Medallist in the 22 as the third late change for the club.

EARLIER
Geelong has swung two late changes ahead of Saturday night’s game with St Kilda.
Marl Blicavs will be managed, while Jon Ceglar goes out of the 22 and will be the Cats’ medical sub.
Zach Tuohy and Sam Menegola return to the senior side in place of that duo.
St Kilda will enter the clash as named with Zak Jones to be the medical sub.
Geelong faces St Kilda at GMHBA Stadium at 7.25pm on Saturday night.
