2022-08-09T18:49+10:00

Melbourne has recently met with contracted Collingwood ruckman Brodie Grundy, reports Sportsday co-host Sam McClure.

Grundy, who will miss the rest of the 2022 season due to a stress fracture in his ankle, is reportedly attracting interest from the Demons.

The 28-year-old signed a lucrative seven-year deal with the Magpies in early 2020.

“Brodie Grundy has met with Melbourne in recent days,” McClure revealed on Sportsday.

“Simon Goodwin was definitely there, Alan Richardson was definitely there, and Max Gawn was definitely there.

“Clearly Melbourne is of the belief that Luke Jackson is going to Fremantle, so they’re on the look out and getting in early in the queue for a direct replacement.

“Could we see Brodie Grundy pairing with Max Gawn next season?”

Grundy has five more years to run on his Collingwood contract.

The Magpies tall is a two-time All-Australian and dual best and fairest winner.
