Saints want Hill to stay amid links to fourth club

St Kilda wants Brad Hill to stay amid links to North Melbourne and his former coach Alastair Clarkson, reports SEN’s Sam Edmund.

Hill is reportedly open to joining a fourth AFL club, three years into a lucrative six-year contract with the Saints.

The 29-year-old speedster has been a maligned figure at times since arriving at Moorabbin from Fremantle at the end of 2019.

The contracted Saint has been linked with a move to Clarkson’s Kangaroos. Hill played in three premierships under Clarkson at Hawthorn.

“Bradley Hill has been linked (to North Melbourne),” Edmund told SEN’s Whateley.

“I’ve touched base with the Saints, they say they want Brad Hill to stay, they want him to fulfil his contract, they’ve been given no sign from the player himself that he wants to leave.

“So all systems proceeding in a forward direction as far as that’s concerned from St Kilda’s point of view.

“But I think there’s an acknowledgement and an admittance that behind the scenes they know that there’s some discussions being had if you like with his former coach in Alastair Clarkson.”

Hill averaged a tick under 21 disposals and 2.4 rebounds from 21 games in 2022.

The ex-Hawk and Docker has played 211 AFL games with 62 of those coming at the Saints.

He is contracted to St Kilda until the end of 2025.
