Fremantle quartet set to request trades following season

2022-09-09T07:43+10:00

Four Fremantle players are expected to request trades out of the club once their season comes to an end.

Griffin Logue (North Melbourne), Rory Lobb (Western Bulldogs), Blake Acres (Carlton) and Lloyd Meek (seemingly GWS) will all be out the door, despite “scurrilous” speculation to the contrary, says Kim Hagdorn.

Hagdorn reports that the quartet and their management have gone quiet simply to focus on the club’s upcoming Semi Final clash with Collingwood and potentially more finals beyond that.

“Fremantle has gone back to Logue with an increased offer, but it is nowhere near the offer that is on the table from North Melbourne for Griffin Logue,” he told SEN WA Drive.

“Once Fremantle has played their last game, Rory Lobb, Blake Acres, Griffin Logue and Lloyd Meek are all expected to ask for trades.

“It’s tight-lipped at the moment because the understanding amongst those players and their agents and Fremantle is, ‘let’s just shut up about it and try and win a semi final, win a prelim, get into a Grand Final and see what can happen then’.

“I think you’ll even find some scurrilous speculation that some of these boys are going to stay at Fremantle now because I think Fremantle is trying their darndest to keep it under wraps until (their season is over).

“Griffin Logue, a really good offer for four years at North Melbourne, it was an increased offer from Fremantle, but nothing like what he’s going to get in the eastern states.”

It will be an off-season at change for the Dockers, with veteran David Mundy’s retirement on top of the departing quartet.

Other players linked with a trade include Joel Hamling and Darcy Tucker.
