New possible destinations have been floated for Fremantle’s Griffin Logue.
The 24-year-old is out of contract with the Dockers and is yet to sign a new deal with the club.
Logue has been seen as a swingman in 2022 after cutting his teeth as a defender before filling a need up forward in the absence of Matt Taberner.
Sportsday’s Gerard Healy and Sam McClure discussed where he might be best suited in 2023, both position and club-wise.
“Logue will be hard to replace,” Healy said on Sportsday.
“I think ultimately he’ll end up in defence with somebody.”
McClure: “He’d be good at North Melbourne, Logue.”
Healy: “He’d be good anywhere.”
McClure: “I know, but if I was North I’d be happy getting Logue at his age and size.”
Healy: “I think every club would be happy to get him.
“Put him in the backline and he’d end up being a centre half-back quite comfortably.”
He has already been linked with the Kangaroos, while Hawthorn has also been mentioned in Logue circles.
But could there be a couple of other Melbourne-based clubs in the mix?
Healy and McClure floated both Carlton and Essendon as those who might have interest in the 64-gamer.
Healy asked: “Can you tell me where he’s going, by the way? Everyone knows he’s leaving.”
McClure: “Well, he’s been linked to Hawthorn and North Melbourne.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Carlton had a look at him as a second back to (Jacob) Weitering. That makes a lot of sense to me.”
Healy: “Carlton desperately would like him.
“I think the Bombers could do with him.”
McClure: “The Bombers could do with a lot.”
Logue kicked two goals in Fremantle’s Semi Final loss to Collingwood on Saturday night.
He played 20 games in 2022, starting in defence before shifting forward and at times even pinch-hitting in the ruck.
