Report: GWS small forward officially requests trade to Collingwood

2022-09-18T17:26+10:00

GWS small forward Bobby Hill has officially requested a trade to Collingwood, reports AFL Media’s Cal Twomey.

Hill, 22, originally requested a trade from the Giants last season but was held to the final year of his contract by the club.

The livewire forward has long been touted to join the Magpies and now that looks to become reality with the trade request.

According to Twomey, the Giants will target a second-round draft pick as compensation for Hill who has played 41 games across four seasons in orange.

Hill played just 11 games in 2022 after undergoing surgery for testicular cancer but managed to return late in the year at VFL level.

The announcement comes just one day after Collingwood’s season finished at the hands of Sydney in Saturday’s Preliminary Final.

Adelaide’s Billy Frampton has also requested a trade to Collingwood while Brisbane’s Dan McStay is set to arrive at the AIA centre as a free agent.
