Report: Top-10 pick tells Suns he wants to explore trade options

2022-09-20T16:20+10:00

Jack Bowes has reportedly told Gold Coast he wants out.

News Corp’s Marc McGowan is reporting Bowes is understood to have told the Suns he wants to investigate his options for a trade.

The 24-year-old managed just five games this season after falling out of favour in Stuart Dew’s best side.

McGowan added the Suns are not expected to stand in Bowes' way in terms of facilitating a trade.

Bowes, a top-10 draft pick in 2016, played 19 games in 2021 as a half-back where he averaged 21.3 disposals and 4.7 rebound 50s. He has two years to go on his contract having played 83 games for the Suns.

SEN Chief Sports Reporter Sam Edmund reported earlier on Tuesday that the Suns could look to trade out numerous players over this off-season to free up salary cap space.

Izak Rankine has already requested a trade away from the Suns while Brayden Fiorini is also believed to move to a Victorian club.
