THE Western Bulldogs have secured experienced assistant coach Brendon Lade for next season.
Lade had been interviewed as part of the Essendon coaching process, but will instead cross to the Whitten Oval in support of senior coach Luke Beveridge.
Lade, a premiership ruckman with Port Adelaide in 2004, has been at St Kilda after earlier assistant coaching stints at the Power and Richmond.
Lade was understood to excited by the prospect of working with the Dogs’ famed midfield group, along with ruckman Tim English and blossoming young tall Sam Darcy.
The Bulldogs lost highly-rated assistants Ash Hansen and Steven King last year, with Lade’s experience a welcome addition for Beveridge 12 months on.
As floated on @SENBreakfast this morning, Brendon Lade has agreed to join the @westernbulldogs as a senior assistant under Beveridge next season. Had been linked to the Essendon job and interviewed but is headed for Whitten Oval. Had been at St Kilda, but a good get for the Dogs
