2022-09-28T09:47+10:00

Geelong has informed five players that they will not be offered contracts for 2023.

Midfielder Quinton Narkle heads the list and will say goodbye to the 2022 premiers after five seasons and 41 games.

Forward Francis Evans, Category B rookie Paul Tsapatolis, 2020 draftee Nick Stevens and mid-season recruit Zane Williams have also been let go by the Cats.

“We thank Quinton, Francis, Nick, Paul, and Zane for their efforts over their time at Geelong and wish them every success in their future endeavours,” said Geelong’s general manager of football Simon Lloyd in a club statement.

“Each player has played their part in our recent success, and we thank them for their commitment and dedication to our football program.

“To pull on the hoops is an achievement in of itself, and each of these young men should be incredibly proud to have represented the Geelong Football Club.

“We have witnessed Quinton, Francis, Nick, Paul, and Zane grow as players and people during their time at the Club.”

Narkle averaged 12.6 disposals, 2.1 clearances and 2.1 inside 50s over his career with the Cats.

His best season came in 2021 when he played 16 games.

Evans played seven games in the blue and white hoops, kicking three goals, while Tsapatolis and Stevens were VFL regulars and Williams only joined the club briefly from Woodville-West Torrens.
