Every club has a wishlist but every club also has a budget.
But not many out there know exactly what is on said list or exactly what each club has up their sleeve to spend.
Josh Jenkins has given each of the 18 clubs a round $1 million figure to spend THIS trade period on a player or players they require.
This is a hypothetical look at what a club needs, but ensuring the players in question are somewhat gettable and the deals are not fanciful.
It is what Jenkins thinks is needed and how the clubs in question should spend their $1m.
Jenkins has looked at the Giants and given them a tricky task.
GWS’ budget – Get down and dirty to try and grab a potential match-winner
Jenkins believes the Giants need to get down and dirty.
“They are set to lose two midfielders which will hurt them, but I think they’re ok around the ball. Coniglio bounced back to some of his best form, I like Tom Green, Josh Kelly had a good season, I think there’s enough there,” he said on AFL Trade Radio’s Trade Mornings.
“So I would go and grab a potential match-winner and place him alongside Toby Greene and you would have two of the more difficult matchups in the game.
“I’m going to get Cam Zurhaar. I’ve been on record that the Clarkson situation is a watch for players who recommitted potentially on the back of change at the Kangaroos.
“I’m standing by that.
“If you’re the Giants, get down and dirty. It all looked great when ‘Clarko the saviour’ was coming in, but now, who knows?
“Get in the ear of these guys. If that’s below the belt the I take it back, but if it’s all good… can you imagine Zurhaar and Greene side forward 50? They would be a nightmare.
“I think Zurhaar has shown enough to be a match-wining forward. He’s a very tough matchup.
“Just watch this space on a few of those (at North).”
