Joint winners of Geelong’s best and fairest

Jeremy Cameron and Cameron Guthrie have jointly won the 2022 ‘Carji’ Greeves Medal as Geelong’s best and fairest players.

The All-Australian forward and consistent midfielder finished equally on 113 votes to claim the club’s top individual award in a premiership season.

The versatile Mark Blicavs was second on 104 votes, veteran forward Tom Hawkins (98) was third, while Tyson Stengle (97) and Tom Atkins (94) were next.

It was Guthrie’s second Cats best and fairest after winning in 2020 (when he was also All-Australian), while it was a first at Geelong for Cameron and second of his career overall after claiming the 2013 Kevin Sheedy Medal with GWS.

In other club awards, rugged midfielder Atkins claimed the Tom Harley Best Clubman Award, Sam De Koning was named as Best Young Player, and retiring captain Joel Selwood was named the Carter Family Community Champion ‘for his outstanding commitment to the community’.
