GWS small forward joins Collingwood in first trade of 2022

2022-10-03T15:47+11:00

The first transaction of the 2022 AFL Trade Period is in with GWS’ Bobby Hill joining Collingwood.

Hill and pick 40 were sent to the Magpies for a future second-round selection and pick 43 in this year’s draft.

The 22-year-old initially asked to be traded last off-season but was held to the final year of his contract by the Giants.

Hill has kicked 34 goals from 41 games since being taken with pick no. 24 in the 2018 National Draft.

He’s expected to be one of multiple additions for the Magpies this off-season.

They are also looking to secure Brisbane’s Daniel McStay and Adelaide’s Billy Frampton, while Hawthorn’s Tom Mitchell and Gold Coast’s Brayden Fiorini have also been touted as possible inclusions.
