Dockers targeting pair of Suns in “package trade” deal

2022-10-04T16:19+11:00

SEN’s Sam Edmund expects Fremantle to target Gold Coast duo Josh Corbett and Jeremy Sharp this trade period.

While the out-of-contract Corbett has long been linked to the Dockers, Sharp, who was taken with pick 27 in the 2019 draft, has a year remaining on his Suns deal.

Edmund says that he believes the Suns will push for a “decent return” for Sharp as the Dockers look to land a double blow.

“With Josh Corbett nominating Fremantle, the Dockers and Suns will work on a package trade for he and Jeremy Sharp,” Edmund tweeted.

“Gold Coast will push for a decent return for Sharp.

“If a deal can’t be reached for both together, Corbett will still be done for a later pick - perhaps a future 4th.”

Corbett also had interest from both Essendon and Melbourne but only made four of his 36 AFL appearances in 2022.

Sharp added 12 games to his tally last season taking his career games to 23.
