2022-10-17T15:05+11:00

Robbie Gray will remain at Port Adelaide in 2023 after accepting a role to stay on in recruiting and list management.

Gray played his final game in Round 23 against Adelaide to wrap up a stellar 271-game career at Alberton.

Throughout his 16-year career, Gray won three John Cahill Medals, four All-Australian blazers and five Showdown Medals, as well as winning the AFLCA Champion Player of The Year in 2014.

Now 34, one of the club’s all-time greats is really grateful to remain at the Power albeit in a non-playing capacity.

“I’ve always been interested in recruiting and list management so I’m really grateful to get the opportunity to move into that space,” Gray said via a statement.

“I’m excited about having the chance to work with Jason, Geoff and the team to help add to the exciting talent we already have at the club.”

Port Adelaide general manager of football Chris Davies says Gray has “an eye for talent” and is sure he’ll be a success in his new role.

“Our List Management and Recruiting team, led by Jason Cripps, are an experienced and talented group and we look forward to Rob’s continuing contribution to the team,” Davies asaid via a statement.

“Rob has an eye for talent, sees the game better than most and knows what it takes to succeed at the highest level. I have no doubt he’ll be great at this too.”

Gray has already begun his role having already undertaken duties at the draft combine in Melbourne earlier this month.
