Adelaide has granted Fischer McAsey personal leave, with the young tall not expected to return until after Christmas.
The Crows announced the news on Sunday afternoon, just hours before the club’s 1st-4th year players are due back for pre-season training.
McAsey, a Victorian who was taken with pick six in the 2019 draft, didn’t make an AFL appearance in 2021 or 2022 but did play 20 SANFL games this year.

In a club statement, head of football Adam Kelly said the club will continue to support McAsey.
“We are fully supportive of Fischer taking personal leave and we will give him the time and space that he requires,” Kelly said.
“We will remain in regular communication with him, as well as his management, to ensure he has ongoing support while away from the Club.
“As always, the welfare of our people is the top priority and we ask that Fischer’s privacy be respected during this period.”
McAsey is a 197cm product who begun his career in defence but has been utilised at both ends of the ground in the SANFL.
He has 10 AFL games to his name.
