Ratten to reunite with Clarkson in North Melbourne move

2022-11-24T14:20+11:00

Recently sacked St Kilda coach Brett Ratten will remain at clubland in 2023 having signed on as a part-time assistant with North Melbourne.

Ratten’s move to Arden Street will see him link up with Alastair Clarkson, whom he worked under for six years at Hawthorn.

According to the club, Ratten will have a matchday role with the Kangaroos and will spend time at the club throughout the week.

He’s been billed to work with the midfield group alongside assistant coach Jordan Russell.

North Melbourne GM of football Todd Viney was thrilled to welcome Ratten to the club’s coaching ranks.

“Brett comes to the club as an experienced, knowledgeable football person and we are thrilled to welcome him to Arden St,” Viney said via a statement.

“Brett is a highly regarded operator who has been part of premiership success during his time at Hawthorn. His vast coaching experience will be a huge asset for our club.”

Ratten’s first day in his new role will reportedly be on Friday, while North Melbourne’s first-to-fourth-year players resumed training this week.
