West Coast has released a statement on rookie Isiah Winder, saying the club has been made aware of an incident involving him drinking in Geelong.

Winder was at the AFL/AFLPA Indigenous and Multicultural Players Summit on the weekend, with the club saying the matter is currently under investigation by Victoria Police.

“The AFL have been informed of the alleged incident and as this matter is currently under investigation by Victoria Police we are unable to make any further comment,” the statement read.

“The club will fully cooperate with Victoria Police and provide support to Isiah through the investigation.”

7AFL reporter Ryan Daniels revealed further information on Twitter, saying Winder allegedly was involved in a physical altercation while drinking at a party.

The Eagles made the call to pick up Winder in the 2022 AFL Rookie Draft, after delisting him at the end of the season.

He has played seven career games for West Coast, including six in 2022.
