Report: Delisted Magpie to train for AFL lifeline with Crows

2023-01-11T16:11+11:00

Delisted Collingwood midfielder Tyler Brown will train for an AFL lifeline with Adelaide this pre-season, reports AFL.com.au’s Josh Gabelich.

Brown, 23, played 27 games across five seasons for Collingwood before being delisted at the end of the 2022 campaign alongside his brother Callum.

The reports states that the Crows were considering recruiting the younger Brown brother as a delisted free agent but didn’t have any vacant list spots open until former first-round pick Fischer McAsey opted to step away from his career.

With a list spot now available, Brown will hope to impress at West Lakes across the pre-season with an eye on being added to the club’s rookie list before the pre-season supplemental period deadline on February 15.

Brown had signed on to play with Footscray in the VFL for season 2023 but will now head to South Australia to link up with the Crows.

The tall midfielder featured 11 times (three as an unused substitute) for Collingwood at the senior level in 2022.
