Melbourne is confident Max Gawn will have a full preparation for the 2023 season despite injuring his hamstring on Friday.
The Demons revealed late last week Gawn had left the track early and been sent for scans, with an update to come.
But on Monday, Melbourne head of medical Dr Laura Lallenec revealed it was a low-grade injury for Gawn.

“Max was closely monitored over the weekend, and we were really pleased with how his hamstring settled,” she told Melbourne Media.
“He has now commenced a modified program, with the view to reintegrate him into training over the next fortnight.
“Given the relatively short period of time that Max will miss, we are confident this won’t impact his preparation for the start of the season.”
While the Demons did not confirm a timeframe, even with a three or four-week recovery timeframe, Gawn would still have plenty of time to improve his fitness before Round 1.
Melbourne lines up against the Western Bulldogs on March 18 to kick off its season.
