“Inside information”: Shaw's smokey for Supercoach in 2023

2023-02-17T09:46+11:00

Premiership player and two-time All-Australian Heath Shaw is excited to play Supercoach in 2023.

The hugely-popular fantasy game is well-known with footy fans and Shaw, who is an ambassador for Supercoach, has given some tips on building your team for 2023.

Shaw named two “cheapies” that everyone should have and a low-priced smokey that you should consider.

“If you want some quality cheapies, you’ve got (Nat) Fyfe and (Jacob) Hopper,” Shaw told SEN Breakfast.

“They’re about $300-grand, so they’re no brainers those guys.

“A little bit of inside information coming out of the Gold Coast,

“(Sam) Flanders (who costs $256,300), I think he’s going to have a cracking year.”

When looking at premium options, Shaw says coaches should pick at least one midfielder from Brisbane, Gold Coast and Melbourne, given how the bye rounds are spread this season.

“One bit of advice I’ll give you after doing some forward planning is around the three byes,” Shaw said.

“It’s an absolute nightmare for Supercoach, you need to pick an A-grade midfielder from Brisbane, Gold Coast and Melbourne.

“Two of those three teams play in each of those bye rounds.

“If you’re looking for players to put in, those are the three teams you need to look after.”

Brisbane have the bye in Round 11 – while Melbourne and Gold Coast play.

Gold Coast have the bye in Round 12 – while Brisbane and Melbourne play.

Melbourne have the bye in Round 13 – while Gold Coast and Brisbane play.

All three teams play in the final bye week of Round 14.
