St Kilda has ruled key forward Tim Membrey out of Round 1.
The Saint underwent minor knee surgery in the off-season, but the club was hopeful he’d be available to face Fremantle.
However, the club has now ruled Membrey out and he joins the likes of Max King, Jack Hayes and Matt Allison as key forwards unavailable.
This will likely see the Saints need to call on trade period recruit Zaine Cordy and pre-season supplemental selection period signing Anthony Caminiti.
Membrey will be joined by Seb Ross on the sidelines, with the midfielder to miss with a calf injury.
Nick Coffield will also be sidelined for four to six weeks with his own calf issue.
St Kilda enters the 2023 season with a lengthy injury list, including the likes of Jack Billings (Leg fracture), Zak Jones (Achilles), Marcus Windhager (Hand) and Dan McKenzie (Calf) to go with the others.
