The first round of the VFL started this weekend with Carlton and Geelong acting as the season opener on Friday night.
While Geelong may have won the match by 16 points, Blues fans can take confidence from some of their AFL listed players who put their best foot forward as they push for selection in the senior side.
Former first round draft pick Paddy Dow once again dominated at VFL level in collecting 30 touches, 10 clearances and four tackles.
Defender Lachie Plowman put in a solid performance with 29 touches and 17 kicks while young midfielder Jack Carroll also impressed with 25 disposals.

For Geelong, medium-forward Oliver Dempsey stood out as he kicked a match high three goals, While seasoned ruckman Jonathon Ceglar and midfielder Brandon Parfitt both put in solid performances.
Meanwhile, Collingwood started their season with a bang when runing riot to defeat Coburg by 92 points at Victoria Park early on Saturday.
The future of the Magpies midfield looks to be in good hands with 2022 first round draft pick Edward Allan playing his first match in the black and white.

The 18-year-old slotted in with ease and collected 24 touches, a goal and eight inside 50s. Finlay Macrae was also impressive and dominated in the guts with a goal from 30 touches.
In the forward 50, former Sydney Kings and Australian Boomer Tom Wilson had a day out kicking five goal, while medium-forward Ash Johnson also looked imposing with four majors.
